Manage

Cubase Star Manager runs on your machine and serves at http://127.0.0.1:3000. It never talks to the network beyond that. One person, no accounts. Whoever can open the tab has full access, the same as any other local tool. It is not a DAW, a file manager, or a backup tool.

Set the workspace folder, then scan for .cpr files. A scan only adds and updates. It never drops an indexed project just because a drive was unmounted. Removing an entry is a separate, confirmed action.

Bookkeeping (star, bucket, remove-from-index) does not touch disk. Clean and rename always show a preview first. Confirm is a second step. There is no undo after you confirm. Export zip only creates a file under storage/out.

Manage, Dashboard, Activity, Settings, and Help are the working pages on this Site.

Manage

Star, bucket, preview clean, preview rename, export zip.

Dashboard

Manage is the project table. Search, filter by bucket, starred-only, hide demo, and sort by name, updated, or bucket.

Star and bucket are bookkeeping only. Nothing on disk changes.

Preview rename shows the exact .cpr and .bak renames when the filename drifted from the folder name. Confirm rename is the second step. It never renames the containing folder, and it refuses to overwrite a file that already exists.

Preview clean shows which .bak files would be deleted and which would be kept (the newest). Confirm clean is the second step. It never touches your .cpr file, and it refuses to run if the .cpr is missing.

Export zip bundles the .cpr, the newest backup, and a short readme into storage/out. It only creates a file.

Remove takes a project out of the index only. A later scan puts it back if the files are still there.

Counts, buckets, and data integrity.

Manage

Dashboard recomputes on every load.

Stat tiles: total projects, starred count, backup files found, reclaimable space, last scan. Starred count opens Manage already filtered.

Projects by bucket: draft, plan, active, parked, published, archived. Each count opens Manage for that bucket.

Data integrity flags missing .cpr files, missing project folders, name mismatches, and duplicate index entries. Each flagged project opens Manage so you can resolve it.

Activity

What you did, in plain language.

Settings

Activity, Logs, and Debug are three different views.

Activity answers what you did: every scan, star, bucket change, clean, rename, and removal. Filter by type. Search by message.

Logs answers what the app did internally. That viewer lives under Settings.

Debug answers why a specific thing failed. Empty is the good state. That viewer also lives under Settings.

Help

General holds the site name and tagline. Those are runtime settings, not build constants.

Appearance holds theme mode (system, light, dark) and accent color. A fresh install is dark with amber. Light with violet is one of the other looks.

Logs is the technical request and operation log.

Debug holds incident captures. Empty is the expected, good state.

System holds Shutdown. Confirm before it stops the server.

Everything the app remembers lives under storage as JSON or NDJSON. Delete storage/data to reset the index without touching your Cubase projects.

What it does not do: it does not open a project in Cubase. It does not browse your disk as a file manager. One workspace path at a time. There is no undo after you confirm a clean or rename.

Help

Getting started and what it does not do.

Manage

Set a workspace, scan, then work from Manage. Load demo projects if you want three sample entries without pointing at a real folder. Removing demo data is bookkeeping only. The bundled demo files are never touched.

Guide inside the app covers buckets, starring, backups, naming mismatches, sharable zips, remove-from-index, data integrity, Activity versus Logs versus Debug, Settings, start and stop, and where data lives.

About shows the live name and tagline from Settings, plus the local-only trust model: the server binds to 127.0.0.1. No accounts, no cloud sync, no telemetry.

What it does not do: open in Cubase, multi-workspace, or undo after confirm.
